Quebec winters are brutal on batteries
At -25°C, a battery loses roughly 60% of its cranking capacity. If it was already weak in the fall, the first cold snap finishes it off. We know because we see customers with the same issue every November.
We serve garages and individuals
For a garage, the battery is a frequent and often urgent order — our Laval delivery service (orders $100+) is tuned for exactly that. For individuals, we give honest advice on the group size, the technology (AGM vs flooded) and the minimum CCA for your vehicle — counter pickup with no minimum.

Battery FAQ
- Q·01
What battery group does my car use?
Group size depends on your make/model/year. Most common groups in Quebec: 24, 35, 48, 51R, H5, H6, H7. Call us with the vehicle info — we check in 30 seconds.
- Q·02
Do you offer free battery testing?
Yes. Drop in — we test your battery in 2 minutes with an electronic load tester. It measures real health as a percentage of factory CCA.
- Q·03
How long does a car battery last in Quebec?
Typically 3-5 years for a flooded battery, 5-8 years for an AGM. After 4 years, get it tested every fall.
- Q·04
Do you take old batteries back?
Yes, for free. The counter price usually includes a 'core charge' (deposit) you recover when you return the old battery. It's also legally required in Quebec.
- Q·05
Minimum CCA for a Quebec winter?
At least 600 CCA for a compact and 700-800 CCA for an SUV or pickup. At -18°C a battery loses about 50% of its CCA.
- Q·06
Do you deliver batteries to garages?
Yes, to garages in Laval — same-day delivery on orders of $100 or more (priority for regular accounts). Outside Laval, including the North Shore, welcome at the counter with no minimum — we're 5 minutes from Highway 13.
